How much is teeth whitening?

Whitening is an effective way to brighten your smile, but how much is professional teeth whitening treatment? In our office, all patients in good standing are entitled to a free, professional grade whitening kit. Read on to find out about your options for a brighter smile.

Two types of professional teeth whitening

Dr. Frahm can perform two types of whitening, both of which whiten your smile quickly. Each uses bleaching chemicals that oxidize and lift stains from your teeth.

In-office whitening procedure

The first way to professionally whiten teeth is with a short, one hour in-office treatment. A single, in-office whitening session can whiten your teeth by about five to ten shades. The Sinsational Smile treatment is an eco-friendly whitening system that whitens teeth effectively. The ZOOM system is both quick and brightens your smile up to ten shades.

How much is professional in-office teeth whitening?

For in-office whitening, you can expect to pay around $800 to $1,200. Of course, costs vary according to which treatment option you choose.

Professional take-home teeth whitening kits

Take home whitening kits are an effective way to whiten teeth and save a little money in the process. Unlike in-office teeth whitening, take home whitening kits take two to four weeks of frequent treatment. A custom tray is created to fit your mouth. You’re instructed to wear it either one hour daily or in some cases, overnight.

How much does professional take-home teeth whitening cost?

Take home whitening kits cost typically about $300 to $600. But, our practice offers complimentary whitening to patients in good standing. That means, you could be entitled to a free whitening kit with custom tray and professional-grade whiten gel.

There are some over-the-counter options to whiten teeth, including whitening strips, gels and toothpaste. These have been shown to be less effective than professional solutions. Concerns about over-the-counter whitening products include gum and enamel erosion, and they are not recommended for sensitive teeth.

A note about insurance and payment

Professional teeth whitening is considered a form of cosmetic dentistry and is usually not covered by insurance policies. Always check with your insurance provider for details.

If you are considering professional teeth whitening, but are unsure how to decide on your options, your choices come down to speed versus price. For the fastest results, one-hour, in-office home teeth whitening is the perfect solution, but it comes at a higher cost. For a brighter smile in two to four weeks, take-home kits are a more cost-effective option.
